Author Bio

At just ten years old, I clutched my first passport, and as a teenager, my love for words blossomed after winning an essay contest. Despite these early interests, I pursued a technical path and earned a Computer Science degree from the University of British Columbia.

After decades in project management consulting, I made a life-changing decision. I was 50 years old, feeling strangled by marriage and gutted by a career that drained me—so, naturally, I decided to walk 600 miles on a solo pilgrimage across Spain on the Camino de Santiago. Expecting only physical challenges, I was unprepared for an emotional journey into my past that set a new course for my future.

The journey deepened my connection to both travel and writing, inspiring award-winning short stories based on my Camino experiences. My stories have been recognized by SOLAS Magazine for Funny Travel Story and WOW! Women on Writing for Creative Non-Fiction.

A founding member of the Sacramento Chapter of American Pilgrims on the Camino, I also belong to the Women’s National Book Association. I support Placer County’s local writing community, serving on the board of Gold Country Writers and actively participating in a Business of Writing group.

Born in Canada to English parents, I moved to California for love and married an American. After thirty years, I’m still adjusting to the dry, sunny climate (and the American.)

With journal in hand and camera at the ready, I’ve visited 55 countries (and counting!) When I’m not writing or traveling for photography, you can find me racewalking, practicing tai chi, or chatting with the neighbor’s cat.

[And I’m pretty darn happy that I managed to get this website up and running.]
